On October 5th starting at 10:30 AM CST at the Athenaeum Center, SAAPRI’s Executive Director Shobhana Verma will be a part of the Chicago Kasam’s 1st Annual South Asian Festival Showcase. The showcase will feature Chicago based participants across social justice, fashion, film, dance, and music across the diaspora of our Chicagoland South Asian community. Chicago Social Justice Leaders from SAAPRI, Apna Ghar, Hamdard Health Alliance, and UIC Disability and Human Development will share their stories of how their careers began and how the work of their organization became essential to Chicago’s South Asian community.
