On July 30th and 31st, 2021, SAAPRI partnered with other Chicagoan organizations, including but not limited to the Latino Policy Forum, Pilsen Neighbors Community Council, Syrian Community Network, Coalition for a Better Chinese American Community-CBCAC, to host a two-day citizenship and immigration expo. The event focused on bringing together diverse community organizations across Chicago to address and bring awareness about similarities in our immigration issues as well as the dissimilarities that pull as apart in the fight of justice for a complete inclusive immigration reform.
The first day included a virtual roundtable via Facebook Live with attorneys including Tejas Shah, SAAPRI Board Member and Partner at Barnes and Thornburg LLP, and representatives from different communities. The second day included virtual pro bono legal service consultations and a Q & A with immigration attorneys.
Thank you to all those who attended our event! If you were not able to attend, you can access the recording of SAAPRI Board Member Tejas Shah here.
